Georges Jouve & Marcel Asselbur

Set of Eight Wall Sconces

France, circa 1950

Medium: Ceramic, brass

Dimensions: 17.75 in high x 7.75 in wide x 4.75 in deep

This charming set of wall sconces by Jouve and Asselbur are sculpted out of clay to look like a converging swell and fired in a dark bronze glaze. They are also notable for their charming asymmetry, as some possess an arm extending higher on the right, and others an arm higher on the left.
